Banking Technology AdvisoryIT Assessment and Gap Analysis
IT Assessment and Gap Analysis
A structured, regulator-aligned assessment of your bank’s technology estate that separates what is answered from what is evidenced, and converts findings into a prioritized, board-ready remediation plan.
The challenge
Context
Most banks know where their technology is weak. Fewer can prove it, rank it, or fund the fix in the right order. Self-assessments tend to record what teams believe; audits tend to record what went wrong. Neither gives the Board a defensible, prioritized view of where the estate actually stands against the regulator’s expectations and against peer practice.
What we do
Scope
01
Structured discovery
Questionnaires per domain, document requests, and interviews with IT, operations, risk, and business heads.
02
Evidence-based validation
Every control is verified with configurations, records, and walkthroughs, never assumed from a checklist answer.
03
Weighted maturity scoring
Controls rated 0 to 5 and weighted 1 to 3 by criticality, producing defensible domain scores.
04
Coverage
Core banking, cybersecurity, IT governance, payments and SWIFT, digital channels, data centers, network and infrastructure, DevOps and software life cycle, Islamic banking, trade finance and treasury, and centralized operations.
05
Business input
Business and control function heads submit their technology pain points and 3-to-5-year plans through a pre-published template, so IT priorities reflect the business, not only the IT division.
Twelve assessment domains
Coverage
How findings are reported
Risk heat map
Illustrative structure. Domain scores in a delivered report are specific to the bank and carry clause references for every finding.
How we work
Five stages: Discover, Assess, Score, Prioritize, Recommend. Findings are rated Compliant (70% and above), Partial (50 to 69%), or Critical (below 50%) at domain level, and every finding carries a clause reference to the relevant Bangladesh Bank guideline. Sensitive domains are audited line by line, not estimated.
